Lincoln Financial
In January of 2005 CF Webtools became involved in a project with Lincoln financial's "AMG" group to migrate an existing legacy application to the newest version of Cold Fusion. The application is a complex web based retirement planning and account management application that includes public facing tools, client facing tools and internal customer service level tools. The application tapped into a legacy HP e3000 server using an ODBC driver to mimic SQL calls to the file based subsytem.
The application was written for CF 4.5 and suffered from scalability issues. CF webtools developed a coding application framework and standard that was suitable for CFMX and tailored to this particular application. On a team with the AMG developers CF Webtools recoded the application from a mass of lengthy scripts to a cohesive group of code with logical separation between the data layer and the display layer. This ongoing project demonstrates the breadth of high level expertise at CF Webtools.

Sergeant's Pet Pet Care
CF Webtools built a rich suite of intranet tools using Flash Remoting and Cold Fusion MX. These tools allow marketing managers to approve and process sales exception requests, and allow all the stakeholders in the process of bringing a new product to market to collaborate. Both systems include automated promotion and rejection of items and requests based on several layers of permissions and state. The result is a set of tools that make it much easier for parties in sales, marketing, finance and production to manage the process of selling existing products and bringing new ones into production.
DST Health Solutions
One provides solutions for the health care industry. A wholly owned subsidiary of Mega-company DST Systems (NYSE: DST), DST Healthsoutions uses Coldfusion to interface directly with a claims processing system running on AS/400. The interface is done through JMS using IBM's MQ Series. This system is in place in multiple locations. CF Webtools was called in to assist them in moving from COM to Java and from Coldfusion 5 to Coldfusion 7. We saw significant benefits immediately following deployment.
The challenges faced by this project were, create Java wrapper classes to replace the COM calls, implementing new CMFX based code in place of custom tags, and working with a new version of message queue.

California Cultural Resources Database
In January 2005 CF Webtools was awarded a contract by the cities of Ontario and Sacramento California to create a web based version of their award winning client application titled the California Cultural Resources Database. This database is designed to allow local governments to inventory buildings and locations of cultural and historical interest and manage these sites.
The goal of the project is to provide an application that is re-usable for other local governments and has programmatic hooks that can be used by the Office of Historic Preservation. In this way, the requirements for the Office of Historic Preservation for surveying and analyzing historic resources can be met in an automated fashion.
This project is funded by both cities on a grant from the Office of Historic Preservation. Several state agencies have expressed an interest in the project as it has moved forward. CF Webtools is using a combination of web services, database modeling, flash remoting and some of the great new Blackstone features to bring this project to a successful conclusion by October of 2005.

CLC Services
In 2008 CF Webtools was engaged by CLC Services to troubleshoot a multi-server system using Java and Oracle. The project called for "war-room" troubleshooting and real time triage of the system. We continue to connect with CLC from time to time..
Portfolio Cash Flow Management
PCFM engaged CF Webtools in 2009 as a development partner. We created automated system that allows them to generate monthly customer statements and an extranet system that allows them to share the statements (and other documents) with that customer. PCFM also hosts a dedicated server with CF Webtools.
